My 2nd House Warming Party (Mum's Kitchen)

Officially it should be the 4th house warming session but it's the 2nd catering session. We were expecting around 30 guests (mainly Derp's Colis, my colis and relatives).

The first time we ordered our food from Elsie's Kitchen. You can read my review here. This time round, we decide to order from Mum's Kitchen. Reason being hub's coli high recommend it and I've also read many good reviews about this caterer online.

Actually, their website is not very 'friendly' in the sense you will think that you can't change the buffet menu item. It looked as though the menu is fixed and once you order that's it.

Derp exchanged several emails with them before we finally got what we want on our menu list.

It worked in the way that as long the price of that item is the same, they allow you to swap items in and out from their Local Favourite/New Asian Cuisine/International Cuisine. For example if you choose the $11 per pax menu from Local Favourite, if the seafood item is not what you want, you can actually swap it with the seafood item under the $11 menu for New Asian Cuisine or International Cuisine.

We requested for the buffet to start at 12pm so the person was suppose to come around 11:30 am to set up. He was late but he did call to inform he will be late.

We were quite surprised he came alone to set up all by himself. Really pro!

Notice that big ass flowers haha! They are real :) I was quite happy to see that because I don't expect chio decoration for a catering held in HDB.

Instead of the conventional dish by dish layout, this is more towards a layer-ing layout. Perhaps it's because the food was for 30pax, so the metal food container isn't as big as compare to the 40 pax container. Can afford to have a different layout!

Yet another #OOTD with the catering layout. Love the flowers a lot :)

Here's the list of food we ordered for that day:

1) Sweet and Sour Fish W/Triple Capsicums - Not as salty as compared to Elsie's Kitchen
2) Mum's Signature Curry Chicken - Their signature dish and indeed never fail to disappoint us.
3) Mum's Sauteed Black Pepper Prawn (Deshelled) - The only deshelled prawns in their menu hence we took it. Taste good too.
4)  Seasonal Vegetable W/Prawn - The least popular dish. Perhaps not many of my guests love veges.
5) Ngoh Hiang - The first food to get sweep out!
6) Wok Fried Rice W/Assortment - Just a average fried rice.
7) Vegetarian Bee Hoon - Not much bee hoon left as compared to the rice.
8) Chilled Honeydew Sago - Not too sweet, just nice to our liking.
9) Fruit Punch - After my guests left, there's still lots of fruit punch left. We went to fill up empty 1.5 litres water bottle with the fruit punch. Still got lots left after we do that! It lasted us for a week or so. lol.

Pardon for no food pics because I was too busy!

It was yet another busy day for us with guests coming in at 12pm and lasted all the way till nearly 5pm. #busydieus

The person came back to collect and clear up before 6pm :)

Overall, it was a good catering experience with Mum's Kitchen. Will definitely consider them for future events.

Yay to completing another housewarming session! Probably another 2 more to go and perhaps a housewarming cum xmas gathering session.

I've started to look around for xmas trees but have not find a ideal one yet. I can finally decorate my house to have the festive season 'feel' :):) Looking forward!

Hi, have you engaged Mum's Kitchen again recently? Is it still good? I have never tried their food but keen to try it for my daughter's bday after seeing your review.
